Assemblage aus mit Erdfarben über Pappmaché und Gaze geformter Figur auf Spanplatte, unter einer Acrylglasscheibe, in Holzobjektkasten. U.r. sign. und u.l. 1976/77 dat.

Ab 1972 beschäftigt sich Brodwolf mit der Umsetzung klassischer Kunstwerke. Mehrere Zyklen beispielsweise zu Giotto, Jacopo Bellini, Leonardo da Vinci, und Michelangelo entstehen, in denen der Künstler die Motive «paraphrasiert». Diese Werke sind eine Hommage an die vergangenen Meister der Zeit, bei welchen auch die menschliche Figur im Zentrum steht.

From 1972 onwards, Brodwolf worked on the implementation of classical works in his art. He created several cycles on Giotto, Jacopo Bellini, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, for example, in which he «paraphrased» the motifs. These works are a homage to the past artists of the time, in which the human figure also takes centre stage.
