.44 caliber, 31" octagonal barrel, NSN. Blade front sight with u-notch buckhorn rear sight. Iron ramrod pipes with brass entry pipes, trigger guard, sideplate, and triggerguard. Pinned barrel with plain forend and grip, carved cheekpiece fitted with brass insert. Brass-tipped wood ramrod unscrews for use of threaded cleaning implements. Top of barrel marked "W. GARDNER/GENEVA". Lockplate marked "PATENT/GENEVA" Lockplate and hammer engraved with light floral motifs. Condition: Good. Barrel has a light pewter patination overall with some spots of oxidation. Stock has minor scrapes and abrasions with some old repairs just forward of lockplate, likely done very early in the piece's life, if not during construction where the stock cracks near knotholes in the stock. Action is functional, bore is good, some cleaned pitting with visible rifling.
