12 gauge. 31.75" barrel length. SN: 20501. Break action Gallagher's Patent carbine that has been converted into a shotgun. Blued metal finish to barrel and case hardened frame. Wood stock has a plain straight grip with iron buttplate. Item features a homemade firing pin mechanism, post front sight, and patchbox to right side. Included in patchbox is a note that reads: "Feb 7th, 1960. Telford Collins traded for this gun, one Thor washing machine & wringer, to Carl A. Miller of Bridgeton, Mich. in the year of 1932." the note is then preceded by information on the Gallagher carbine. Markings include a "J.P" to bottom of frame, and Belgian proof marks to bottom of barrel. Warning: This gun should be inspected by a gunsmith before attempting to fire. Condition: Fair. Bore is dark. Most of finish has turned to a mottled grey-brown patina with small clusters of pitting and oxidation scattered overall. Wood stock shows scratching and mars overall. Action is functional.
