Engraved view of the bays of Napoli and Pozzuoli on a Royal sheet, 297 x 430mm. The view showing a volcanic eruption and the damaged buildings and features close to the volcano. Title set in scrolled cartouche, galleons decorate the sea. (Laid down, trimmed to plate mark, a few spots, small unobtrusive tear.) A VERY RARE SECOND STATE. The view shows the gulfs of Naples and of Pozzuoli at the time of the eruption of the volcano later called Monte Cinerum.
