Frits LAUBE (German, born Berlin 1914 – overl. Bad Harzburg 1993) “Mountain Goats in their Natural Habitat“ Signed and dated lower right: ‘F. Laube 1989‘ Oil on canvas, 60.5 x 80.5 cm Artist information: The painter Frits Laube is generally regarded as one of the best post-war German animal painters. Laube, operating since 1950 in Vienenburg in Harz, Germany. He made study trips through Germany, Europe, Canada and Africa. He mainly painted roe deer, deer and wild boar, as well as wisents in East Prussia.
