France. Wyld (James), Wyld, Map of the Kingdom of France according to the Treaty of Paris, November 20th 1815, Divided into Departments and Districts from the Map of M. Cassini de Theury, April 4th 1825, large engraved map with contemporary outline colouring, sectionalised and laid on linen, on two sheets, inset map of Corsica, calligraphic cartouche and compass rose, each sheet 615 x 1180 mm, contained in a contemporary marbled card slipcase with a publisher's printed label to the upper cover and spine A fine example of Wyld's reduction of Cassini's monumental map of France. After Napolean's defeat in 1815, France underwent the Bourbon Restoration with Louis XVIII being restored to the throne, which would last until the July revolution of 1830.
