Four works by Ernest Thompson Seton or Ernest Seton-Thompson (he had a hard time with names) Author: Seton, Ernest Thompson Place Published: Various places Date Published: Various dates Description: 4 volumes bound in pictorial cloth. Includes: The Biography of a Grizzly. The Century Co., New York, 1900. The Biography of a Silver-Fox or Domino Reynard of Goldur Town. The Century Co., New York, [1909]. Krag and Johnny Bear. Charles Scribner's Sons, 1914. Rolf, der Trapper. Kosmos, Stuttgart, [1923]. Text in German. (Front hinge cracked). The Canadian writer born Ernest Evan Thompson (1860–1946) had trouble with his name. Although it causes problems for the beleaguered rare book cataloger, it's hard to blame him for the various name changes over his career since his father was such a notorious skinflint. In his autobiography, Trail of An Artist-Naturalist: The Autobiography of Ernest Thompson Seton he relates the true story of how at age 21 his father presented him with an invoice for all expenses accrued in raising the author to adulthood. No wonder that Thompson Seton or Seton-Thompson seemed to prefer the company of wild animals. Condition: Condition varies; generally very good. Item#: 368822 Headline: Four works by Ernest Thompson Seton
