(Venice: Heirs of Aldo Manuzio & Andrea Torresano, September 1518) First Aldine edition of The Complaint of Peace, printed the year after Johann Froben's first, Basel edition. 8vo (159 x 99 mm). Italic types, 30 lines plus headline (and shoulder-notes). collation: a-z8 A-E8: 224 leaves (E7 blank). Woodcut Aldine device on title-page and E8v, initial spaces with guide letters. (Light dampstaining to title-page and a few following leaves, worming at inner margin of last four leaves.) binding: Contemporary Italian limp vellum (167 x 110 mm), slightly overlapping edges, spine ink-lettered with author and title, somewhat later lettering at foot adding imprint information, plain endpapers and edges, remnants of two ties, plain edges.
