Autograph Letter Signed ("Colette"), 2 pp recto and verso, oblong 8vo, [Paris, Apr 11, 1944], on blue paper, autograph transmittal envelope, to Maguerite Moreno. Worrying about Marguerite's nephew who had recently been arrested for his activities in the Resistance 3. GAUTHIER-VILLARS, HENRY. Autograph Letter Signed ("Willy"), 1 p, 8vo, n.p., n.d.. Playfully cursing an unnamed correspondent and sending a small PHOTOGRAPH of 2 women on the beach (mounted to letter), one of whom appears to be Colette and the other referred to as "Meg." 4. 2 further Autograph Letters Signed (1 "Colette Willy" and 1 illegibly), 2 pp, 8vo, n.p., n.d., to other correspondents. One mentions Marguerite Durand and the other an invitation to the Circle Club. The long and faithful correspondence of 46 years between these close friends was published in Colette: Lettres à Marguerite Moreno, 1959, edited by Claude Pichois. The photograph appears to be of Colette and Moreno horsing around on the beach, a rare image.
