Chateau Cheval Blanc 2000 Chateau Cheval Blanc 2000 St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classe (A) Lots473-477: Pristine, tissue wrapped Vintage from 14 September to 28 September. A generous 42 hl/hectare made. 13.5% alcohol (although they recorded 14.9% in the Merlot from clay this year). 50% Cabernet Franc, 50% Merlot. Tasted in 2010 in Hong Kong from Jeroboam. Black cherries mixed with a Guerlain scent's intensity on the nose. Then the violets kick in. Almost a touch of vanilla on the palate, then glorious chocolate-covered strawberries. In 2011 from bottle, a warm, spicy leather nose. Great red fruit liveliness. Just a stunning charmer. In magnum, so fruity and youthful, with superb energy. Great, luscious plums and such beautiful definition. SS.
