Chateau Cheval Blanc 2000 Chateau Cheval Blanc 2000 St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classe (A) Lot 1529: 1 slightly smudged and scratched label Vintage from 14 September to 28 September. A generous 42 hl/hectare made. 13.5% alcohol (although they recorded 14.9% in the Merlot from clay this year). 50% Cabernet Franc, 50% Merlot. Vanilla and coconut on the nose. Incredibly rosy fruit. Luscious. Still with many dimensions to develop. Glorious health and exuberance that is copybook 2000. Last tasted in 2010 in Hong Kong from Jeroboam. Black cherries mixed with a Guerlain scent's intensity on the nose. Then the violets kick in. Almost a touch of vanilla on the palate, then glorious chocolate-covered strawberries. SS. Lot 1529 12 bts (cn) Lot 1530 12 bts (cn) per lot: HKD 90000-150000 per lot: USD 12000-20000 Under Jacques Hebrard and, since 1991, Pierre Lurton, Cheval Blanc continues to dazzle. The brilliant technical team at the property coaxes the maximum from this plateau just over the road from Pomerol, where gravel ridges bestow class to the wine and the high percentage of Cabernet Franc gives such scent. And the voluptuous character? That is the magic ingredient, which can be perceived throughout. Cheval Blanc is stunning drunk when it is relatively young, but it also ages in exotic multi-dimensional fashion. SS. Quantity: 1
