An important token of the Mets indiminishable optimism, this ring was one of several issued by the Mets in 1964 in recognition of Meritorious Service on the part of key personnel who endured with the club through its difficult early years. None of these tokens was more aptly bestowed than this ring given to Casey Stengel. Produced by Balfour, the 10k gold ring features a Mets logo relief encrusted with a tiny diamond and two rubies (signifying Casey's service to the club in 1962 and 1963). The shanks feature the brand new Shea Stadium and Mr. Met. The initials "C.D.S." are engraved on the inside of the band. Near mint condition. Size 9 3/4. LOA from the Stengel family.
