Carved Mahogany 2 Weight Grandfather Clock. X in. silvered dial with applied gilt brass hour numbers, pierced blued hands, brass back plate with pierced decorated filigree corner spandrels, sub seconds dial, sub calendar dial, and moon phase dial above; long steel pendulum rod with brass covered bob and 2 brass covered weights with solid brass pulleys The 8 day time & strike movement is signed "W.&H. Son., Germany, 1" for "Winterhalder and Hofmeier". Mahogany floor standing case is in original finish having an arched bonnet with turned finials, corner columns and two drapery bell flower carvings; twisted columns on each side of the central beveled glass door, base having an inset panel with carving of a shell with 3 carved scroll designs on each side, standing on claw feet. Original finish, missing ball top pieces to the side finials, repaired break in the top left corner of the bonnet. Overall dial & moon phase dial shows wear & paint loss. Dimensions: 102 in. high x 27 in. wide x 17 in. deep.
