Caldwell & Co., Philadelphia", has a 12 in. silvered chapter ring with applied brass hour numbers, silvered sub seconds dial, moon phase signed "Walter H. Durfee & Co. Providence, RI" with silvered arch, sub dials for Chime/ Silent & Westminster Chime/ Bow Bells, fancy engraved gilt brass back plate and pierced hands; brass 8 day weight driven movement has Graham deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, quality brass pulleys, brass covered weights and pendulum bob with steel stick, silvered tubes signed "Walter H. Durfee & Co. Providence, RI" and the rear of the front plate is stamped with number "7" over "AE". Carved mahogany case has an unusual bonnet with pyramidal domed top, carved center finial, pediment carved crest, concave bowed cornice with filigree carved frieze and beveled glass door; the body of the case has filigree, scroll and seashell carvings with inset beveled panels, concave bowed form at the base and beveled glass door panel; silvered presentation plaque on the front reads "George & Laura Holl, June 25th, 1875-1895". In excellent cleaned and restored condition, case has a cleaned and enhanced finish, losses to the front feet, crutch is repaired and crutch post is bent, missing one tube and strike hammer, has door key. 102 in. high x 28 in. wide x 18 in. deep.
