Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector 1st Model Target chambered in .44 S&W Special. Commonly known as the Triple Lock due to the unique 3rd locking system at the yoke. Built on a blued 5-screw N frame with a pinned 6 - 1/2" barrel. This revolver features a pinned brass bead front target sight and an adjustable rear sight with U-shaped sight leaf. Left side of the barrel reads "44 S.&W. SPECIAL CTG" and the top of barrel has a 2-line manufacturer and patent date stamp. The hammer is casehardened with checkering and a flattened top with a width of .265". Back of the hammer reads "REG.U.S.PAT.OFF." The trigger is case hardened with serrations on the face and reads "REG.U.S.PAT.OFF." on the rear. Cylinder release and ejector rod tip are checkered. Smith & Wesson trademark stamped on the side plate. The serial number "14351" is followed by the 5-point factory rework star on the butt of the frame. On the left side of the grip frame is marked with a "B" inside of a diamond, an "H" by the grip support pin, and "13" towards the top. Smith & Wesson square butt diamond center checkered walnut stocks with steel trademark inserts. No serial number written on the inside of the stocks. Matching serials on butt, cylinder face, inside extractor shroud, yoke, and back of extractor star. Includes a 2-piece non-labeled maroon box. Model written in pencil on bottom of box. CONDITION: Excellent overall condition with almost all factory bluing remaining. Slight drag line on cylinder. Bright bore and crisp rifling. Good mechanics. Box shows moderate handling and peeling.
