1921 Vintage Colt Single Action Army revolver, serial number 354541. Blue with case hardened frame, and hammer. 5 - 1/2" barrel chambered in .45 LC. Factory engraved by Wilbur A. Glahn in his typical flowing scrollwork with dot backgrounds. Approximately 'C' coverage. Unique carved 2-piece ivory grips with a Steer Head motif on the right panel and the Shrine Temple emblem inlaid in blue on the left panel. Accompanying Colt archival letter dated April 18, 1973 and signed by Marty S. Huber, Historian. Letter documents configuration, factory engraving, and carved ivory grips with Shrine Emblem inlaid. Shipped on May 29, 1931 to Spetnagel Hardware Company in Chillicothe, Ohio in a single gun shipment. Formally in the collection of Paul Sorrell, and Doug Stein. CONDITION: Excellent plus with 92-95% bright original blue and a generous amount of original case color remaining. Engraving is sharp and crisp. Very faint drag line on cylinder. Bore is bright and clean. Action is tight and crisp. Lovely honey patina ivory grips showing minimum wear. Carving and inlay are crisp. A most handsome pre-war factory engraved Colt with unique features.
