Model 1878 Frontier Six Shooter manufactured by Colt in 1903. Left side of barrel is stamped "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" with Colt's single line address across the top. Encircled Rampant Colt logo is present on the left side of the frame. Features include Colt's high polish blue finish, a 7 - 1/2" barrel, blade front sight, frame notched rear sight, lanyard loop on butt, as well as 2-piece Colt hard rubber grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame and cylinder. Assembly number on frame and loading gate are matching. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original Colt factory high polish blue finish, exhibiting areas of cleaned oxidation showing through to gray patina as well as areas of wear and thinning that show through to areas of brown patina. Bore is bright, exhibiting some light oxidation and retains good rifling throughout. Grips show some light handling marks and a few scattered nicks overall.
