Colt 1877 lightning double action revolver. Made 1903. Round steel barrel with "COLT'S PT F. A. MFG Co./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A." on the top, and "COLT. D.A. 41" on the left side. Standard patent dates on the left side of the frame. Matching serials on the frame, trigger guard and butt. Half moon blade front sight with V notch cut out rear. Blued barrel with case hardened frame. Original hard rubber grips with rampant Colt Pony. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish with a gray patina forming in most areas. Grips have minor scratches and wear to the checkering. Bore is overall clean, with some minor pitting near the breech. Mechanically operable. Timing needs adjustment.
