BELL'ARMATO, Girolamo (1493-1560)]. En candidi Lectores elegantioris Italiae partis, Tusciae scilicet Topographiam in hac tabella vobis denuo damus cum adiacentibus Umbriae, Aemiliae, Lombardiae, & Liguriae partibus . [Rome]: Antonio Salamanca [mid-16th century]. Engraved map of Tuscany on a full Royal sheet, 410 x 560mm. The map including the islands of Elba, Giglio, Giannutri and part of Corsica, and covering the whole of Tuscany, part of Liguria, Lombardy, Emilia, Umbria, and south as far as Rome, scalebar and dividers, engraved explanation, the map set within a graticule border, also shows armies and a fortress near Siena. (Trimmed to platemark, some slight marginal damage not affecting border, some very light discolouration.) A RARE AND IMPORTANT MAP OF TUSCANY. Armies have been added to the plate and can be seen around Siena, but were deleted in later issues of the map. Tooley 567 (7 copies); further copy in the Biblioteca Marciana, 45; reproduced in Almagià, MIC Tav. XXIII; watermark Woodward 242.
