Title and key in decorative strapwork cartouche, compass rose, with earlier imprint of the heirs of Claudio Duchetti dated 1586. (Small worm-holes, some surface dirt, light staining on the right-hand side, a few small spots.) A dark impression of this fine map of the bay of Pozzuoli. This is an Orlandi restrike of Ambrogio Brambilla's map as first published by Claudio Duchetti in 1584, and is a fine copy of Grassi's map of the same area (see lot 1061). Watermark Woodward 45.
