Gothic types 2:115: (headings), 11:96 text. 3 and 4-line inital spaces, some with guide-letters rubricated in red with Lombard initials, capital strokes and paragraph marks. (Light darkening to edges, minor marginal worming to a few leaves.) Rebound in an old vellum antiphonal leaf; deerskin index tabs. Provenance : early ink marginalia -- Estelle Doheny (morocco bookplate; purchased from Dawson's Book Shop, Los Angeles, 1 November 1943) -- donated to SMS November 1943. This edition was apparently also issued in two parts, comprising Eusebius Cremonensis and Augustinus and the remaining tracts. Ulrich Zel, Cologne's first printer, learned his craft from Fust and Schoeffer in Mainz. He began printing in Cologne probably in 1465.
