A collection of warm and heartfelt correspondence from the long time companion of William Randolph Hearst, actress Marion Davies, and her nephew, screen writer, Charles Lederer. In one letter, penned at Wyntoon ("Time - One hour past cocktail time"), she begins: "Thanks for leaving the 'Aunt' off of the letter you sent me. I am getting very sensitive and the mere call of 'Aunt Marion' gives me the pink elephant shakes...Anyway, hot spit, I like to hear from you." After relaying various updates and current family news she closes the letter "Love, Marion" and with the post script: "I'm perfectly sober."
