Obv: profile bust with +ED.VVNZN retrograde and blundered legend. Rev: short voided cross with +D[-]IDE[ ]NN retrograde and blundered legend for an uncertain moneyer and mint, possibly from Dudinc at London? 0.74 grams. Very fine; surface crack to flan on reverse. Extremely rare and interesting. Provenance Found near Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK, 2012. Published See Early Medieval Corpus, Cambridge, reference EMC 2014.0316 (this coin). Literature S. 1175 variant; N. 818 variant. Footnotes This coin appears likely to be an imitation of Anglo-Scandinavian origin.
