Unknown photographer: An original black-and-white press photograph of the American actors James Dean (1931–1955) and Elizabeth Taylor (1932–2011) in their roles as Jett Rink and Leslie Benedict in the movie “Giant” from 1956. Back with cast and agent stamp, "Property of Christopher Denis, 518 Tulfan Terrace, Riverdale, N.Y. 10463. Dated February 22nd 1956. Photo size 25×20 cm. Frame size 43×33 cm. James (Byron) Dean was already a cultural teenage icon when he died on September 30th 1955. His characters painted the disillusion and social alienation of the youth, something that found its clearest expression in “Rebels Without a Cause” from 1955, his most reputated movie. The other two roles which came to define his legacy was Cal Trask in “East of Eden” (1955) and Jett Rink in “Giant” from 1956.
