The 43 1/2 inch blade of hexagonal section with 10 inch fuller inscribed on one side BPRPBPBR with a series dots and ovals and with a similar inscription of disassociated letters on the reverse. Steel hilt, the bars of diamond section, and comprising three large rings front and back, all inclined towards the pommel and with central baluster-form panels, the largest ring with like panels at the sides; long, straight quillons with faceted finials above a narrow ring; knucklebow with branches extending to the side rings below a baluster-form panel; faceted cylindrical pommel tapering towards the top and with narrow roped bands facing the quillon and knucklebow. Grip wrapped in plaited steel wire with wire turk's heads. Condition: Blade with scabbard light pitting. Hilt showing dark grey patina with some light pitting. Grip probably re-wrapped.
