Lot of 2, both showing the same group of American Indians, one with the imprint of E. H. Train and with a manuscript identification manuscript recto identification Piegans. The second on a slightly larger blue paper mount with no imprint but of the same group, and with a hand-made paper label on verso with manuscript notation "15. Blackfeet Chiefs", including an unknown white man (an interpreter?) seated on the left. The first clearly shows Train's studio reflectors. Edgar H. Train is listed by Mautz as operating a studio in Helena, Montana Territory in 1867 in partnership with A. C. Bundy. These views, though not dated, are probably from the mid 1870s. A very scarce pair of early Montana Territory views. Condition: Both VG to near Excellent.
