Provenance : Author's presentation copy (loosely inserted smaller format slip 'Überreicht vom Verfasser'). A very fine copy of this rare work on the birds of Spitsbergen. The plates include 11 coloured after Keulemans (1 chromolithographed), 12 chromolithographs of heads and beaks by H.Schultze and 10 coloured plates of eggs (1 chromolithographed) after G.Krause.
