Marbourg, featuring photographs of Annapolis, Colorado and across the globe Author: ** Place: Various places Publisher: Date: 1912-1915 Description: Most photographs approx. 4.5x6.5 cm. Most with neat captions in ink, either in lower margin below image, or on the album leaves. Album is 11.5x18.5 cm. (4½x7¼"). Very interesting album, generally featuring Edgar F. (Ned) Marbourg, starting at age 15½ in 1912, featuring his time as a young midshipman at the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis (class of 1917), also tracing his many travels across the country, etc. E.M. Marbourg, whose name is on a printed slip at the front, was a Colorado Springs Ophthalmologist, apparently he assembled the album. Besides Colorado, there are snapshots of Illinois, Annapolis, Washington D.C., various ships, midshipmen, baseball games at the Academy, naval aircraft, the training ship Boxer, on to Italy and Rome in 1914, submarines at Annapolis in 1915, La Jolla California, and more. An excellent record of life in the U.S. Naval Academy prior to U.S. entry into World War I. Lot Amendments Condition: Minor war, very nice condition. Item number: 216645
