Circa 1889. A vintage 12 bore with lovely brown Damascus barrels. This British-made shotgun is built 30", 2 - 1/2" chambered barrels. Barrels with Birmingham nitro reproof. Barrels are fit with ejectors and a Damascus smooth concave rib with doll's head extension. Rib faintly reads with maker's name and address "Westley Richards 170 Bond Street London". Chokes are Modified and Improved Cylinder. The gun's silvery patina boxlock action is engraved with tight scrolls throughout. "WESTLEY RICHARDS" is engraved on both sides in a banner. Action bottom is blacked with matching fine scroll. The gun's fine double triggers are protected by a blacked engraved trigger guard which extends to an engraved 3/4 length bottom strap. Bottom strap also engraved with gun serial number "14384". The patent ejector blacked fine scroll engraved top lever sits ahead of the word "SAFE" (in gold). Safe slide is scroll engraved and serrated. Gun is auto-safe. The European brown smoky stock with drop points, double checkered panels is also built with English flat top checkering on its English straight hand grip. Stock is finished by a brown serrated hard rubber plate. The splinter forend matched checkering is complimented by the engraved Deeley latch release and horn tip. Exterior iron metal with scroll engraving matching the action. Gun comes in an oak and leather case with vintage paper trade label and factory letter(s). Letters indicate gun was originally built for "Mr. F.G. Armstrong Esq.". Case also comes with a nickel-plated pair of snap caps. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels remain with 95% re-brown Damascus. Barrels with slight handling marks. Action, ejectors, and triggers are sound. Stock is very good with light handling marks and evidence of a later restock.
