1853 vintage Colt 3rd Model Dragoon, serial number 13321. 7 - 1/2" half round, half octagon barrel in .44 caliber with Colt New York single line barrel address, German silver blade front sight, and hammer notch rear. Cylinder measures 2 - 3/16" in length from face to rear of nipples. Matching serial numbers observed on barrel, butt, trigger guard, frame, cylinder arbor, rammer, wedge, and cylinder. Left side of frame is marked "U.S.". "P" inspector mark observed on both sides of frontstrap beneath grips and on inside of backstrap. "K" and "X" inspector markings on left and right side of trigger guard. "2" (inverted) inspector mark on frame face in between frame and barrel. 1-piece walnut grips with traces of original cartouches on either side. CONDITION: Good as heavily cleaned with areas of pitting throughout and cylinder scene worn away. Wedge retaining screw is a replacement as well as cylinder stop screw. Grips are very good as lightly sanded with cartouches illegible and areas of denting and gouging, especially on left grip panel and near butt. Cylinder is slightly out of time, but action does work appropriately other than this when cycled by hand. Bore is dark with heavy abrasion and well-defined rifling. Overall, an honest, well worn example of a historic Colt Blackpowder revolver.
