1861 vintage martially marked Colt 1860 Army. 8" round barrel with 1-line New York address and "S" inspector marks. German silver front sight blade and v-notch rear sight cut into hammer. 6-shot rebated cylinder roll marked with naval engagement scene and stamped with "K" and "S" inspector marks. Case hardened frame with recoil shield cut for shoulder stock. Brass front strap and blued steel back strap. 1-piece smooth walnut grips with traces of inspector cartouches on each side. Housed in period brown leather flap holster lightly decorated with tooled border. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel assembly cleaned to gray patina. Cylinder also exhibits a gray patina with majority of scene still visible. Frame retains bountiful amounts of case colors somewhat dulled with age. Portions of original bluing also retained on the back strap thinning to gray patina. Trigger guard mellowing with red patina forming. Grips lightly sanded with finish added. Shootable bore and very fine mechanics. Matching numbers observed on frame, barrel assembly, wedge, cylinder, cylinder arbor, trigger guard and back strap. Holster supple but shows some age.
