A GROUP OF COPTIC TEXTILE TUNIC FRAGMENTS CIRCA 5TH-8TH CENTURY A.D. Comprising a green and orange border fragment with a white bird between two fish, 6¼ in. (15.9 cm.) long; a purple ground fragment with central standing figure with elongated central hooked fingers surrounded by a garland, 5 in. (12.7 cm.) across; a polychrome square with central lion bordered by alternating plants and birds(?), green, pink, yellow, cream and dark brown, 9½ in. (24.1 cm.) across; a border with seven stylized lions in dark brown, 7 3/8 in. (18.7 cm.) long; a fragment with two frontally facing figures, one wearing a pendant, each with one arm raised, a diminutive figure between, above a roundel filled with dancing figures, some with elongated central fingers, birds as fillers, to the left a border with human figures, lions and a bird, reddish-brown, 6 in. (15.2 cm.) long; a rectangle with two dancing figures, each with one arm bent and raised up, the other down, 5 in. (12.7 cm.); a roundel with dark brown figures and animals, 10½ in.
