A GERMAN SILVER-PLATE MOUNTED CRANBERRY GLASS AND PAINTED TWO-HANDLED COVERED PUNCH BOWL AND LADLE Maker's mark of WMF, stamped 1/O- Normal plating , ZG- Fancy-gilt , circa 1895 The inverted pear-shaped broadly lobed glass body painted with bead-enclosed reserves of yellow and ochre foliate scrolls, the ends also with paired blue anthemion, with painted shoulder, supported by circular molded, pedestal base, chased in the Mannerist style with cherub masks and scrolls, the body twice applied with elaborate open-work, bacchic mask headed panels, one with oval engraved in script Das Arbeiter Personal , the other Seinem Verehrten Chef Am Hochzeittag 4/9-1895 , with two mask and beaded loop handles, between two guilloche die-rollled bands, the detachable decorated cover topped by figure of Diana; with a ladle-- the bowl over cover 21½in. (54.6cm.) high ; together with an English hot-water jug, chased with panels of flowers, Elkington & Co., 1842-1864 -- 13in. (33.02cm.) high (3)
