A FINE & RARE FACTORY ENGRAVED .44 (HENRY RIMFIRE) 'MODEL 1866' DELUXE LEVER-ACTION REPEATING CARBINE WITH SILVER-GILT RECEIVER AND MOUNTS WINCHESTER, NEW HAVEN, CT., SERIAL NO. 118292 FOR CIRCA 1873 With 20 in. (50.7 cm.) nickel-plated barrel, silver-gilt receiver engraved with panels of scrollwork against a dotted ground, the left side of the receiver engraved with a vignette of a dog, scroll engraved nickel-plated lever, well figured 13 ½ in. walnut stock (cracked through at the wrist), with old inventory labels, and silver-gilt butt-plate and barrel-bands en suite with the receiver, the butt-trap containing one part of a take-down cleaning-rod
