A fine pair of Louis-Philippe ormolu-mounted and brass-inlaid pietre dure and ebonised side-cabinets The cabinets circa 1840, The Florentine pietre dure plaques second half 17th Century and later Each with rectangular Spanish brocatelle top, above guilloche banding and an acanthus and poppy frieze, the square-shaped panelled door inset with a central ormolu-framed plaque depicting a vase of flowers, surrounded by eight smaller similarly framed plaques, each depicting a bird among fruit, blossom and insects, the interior fitted with a pair of brass-inlaid shelves, the sides centred by a cartouche-backed Bacchic mask framed within brass line inlay held by berried acanthus clasps, the concave plinth base centred to the front by a Bacchic mask flanked by scrolling acanthus, on rectangular tapering feet 50 in. (127 cm.) high; 39¼ in. (99.7 cm.) wide; 18 in. (45.6 cm.) deep (2)
