COLT' script signature, cylinder with stage coach scene, case-hardened frame engraved 'COLTS PATENT', brass trigger-guard and grip-strap each retaining nearly all their original silvered finish, finely figured one-piece burr walnut grips, matching numbers throughout, and much original finish, the barrel-lug, frame, grip-strap, trigger-guard and loading-lever lug decorated with Gustave Young style scroll engraving, the hammer with lion's head and scroll engraving, in a relined and close-fitted mahogany case with accessories including an early brass Colt Patent bullet-mould and brass-mounted pistol-flask, the exterior with shaped brass escutcheon 6in (15.3cm) barrel
