Description The VW Camper needs no introduction. It set the standard when it comes to obtaining freedom and adventure on the open road and at its core is the philosophy ‘home is where you park it’. The first generation of the Volkswagen T1 split windshield, informally called the Microbus, Splitscreen, or Splittie among modern fans, was produced from 8 March 1950 through to the end of the 1967 model year. These iconic vans have been used around the world for a variety of purposes but they are most renowned and loved as campervans. The VW Camper for sale here was imported from the spiritual home of these vehicles, California, USA. The current owner bought it in 2011, with the previous owner carrying out extensive restoration works and custom interior build. The current owner has overseen various works since 2011, including new brakes, dampers, transmission bushings and tie rods. In 2014 a new 1641cc twin carburettor engine was fitted. At this time a full windows out respray was completed and it looks superb finished in Blue and White. The campervan interior is in really good condition with teal and cream chequered curtains. All the usual campervan essentials are included such as a basin, hob, folding table and rear bench that converts into double bed. When the vehicle was re-sprayed the interior metal-work wasn’t included and as such there are some minor marks and scratches inside.
