Beschreibung:

Matchless offered a range of no less than eleven different models for the 1934 season, ranging from the 246cc Model F7 single, the sensational double V-four cylinder, 593cc Silver Hawk, to the mighty V-twin cylinder 990cc Model X4, also offered in sports trim as the XR4 that year. The big twin X4 engine had cylinder dimensions of 85.5 x 85.5mm and featured enclosed valves. In standard form the X4’s four-speed gearbox had hand change but, for an extra 15/- on the £68-15s-0d price tag, foot change was available. The X4 was supplied to a Police Specification also, with footboards, foot clutch and left-hand gearchange, and this was available to the public also. This standard specification machine, with foot change conversion, is indeed a spectacular machine with its ‘double-decker’ exhausts and appears to be original in all major respects. It was first registered in March 1934 and joined the Geeson family Collection in 1968. It is offered with an old style green log book and Swansea V5 registration document.
