White, Yorktown, 24 April 1862, mentions being near some battling and men on picket shooting cows during the night thinking they may be Union soldiers, he writes of occasionally shelling the enemy and being shelled by gunboats, also speaks of a measles outbreak in the regiment, 12 x 7 1/2 in.; 4 May 1862, writes of picket duty and marching, mentions a recent charge of fifty men in which only six came out unhurt, describes his and his brother's injuries, along with the injuries of a number of other men in his regiment, 8 1/4 x 5 in.; Richmond, 18 June 1862, writer says he is recovering from his wounds, description of hospital life, numbering those killed or wounded in his company, 9 3/4 x 7 3/4 in.
