(Some spotting, some light browning, heavier in about 9 quires, lower blank margin of title renewed, with light abrasion at base of title plate, a few characters on p.71 uninked.) Modern vellum-backed pastepaper boards. FIRST EDITION. Zuallart undertook a 6-month pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 1586. His account describes the cities and sites he encountered, from Venice, to Crete, Cyprus, Jaffa, Bethlehem, Jerusalem and other places in the Holy Land, including Tripoli. The maps, plans and views of places and sites which illustrate the account were made by the author himself during his voyage. They reappeared in later editions of Zuallart's work, and copies of them were used to illustrate other accounts of the Holy Land.
