ZHAO SHAO'ANG (1905-1998) Cicadas and Bamboo Hanging scroll, ink and colour on paper 100 x 35.5 cm. (39 3/8 x 14 in.) Inscribed with a poem and signed, with two seals of the artist Dedicated to Jilian Dated third month, xinchou year (1961) Note: Huang Jilian worked for the Hong Kong Government and as the editor for Huaqiao Daily Post. He was a friend of Lingnan School artists and was the exhibition curator for Zhao Shaoang in Singapore and Malaysia. He had a fine collection of Zhaos works.
