Marvelous brochure featuring Austrian ski champion Hannes Schroll as director of the Yosemite Ski School, with a photograph of him, and other photos of such winter activities as dog teams, tobogganing, ice carnivals, sleighing, ski instruction, etc. The text describes the program, the clothing and equipment necessary, accommodations and rates, and more. The three-panel map shows the winter sport venues in the valley and surrounding mountains. Also included is a 4-page Yosemite Winter Sports Program 1937-8, listing events from December 15 through April 16. No copies of either of the brochures are listed in OCLC. Hannes Schroll , the Austrian Alpine ski racer, was the founder of the Sugar Bowl Ski Resort in Norden, California. Donald Tresidder, who was president of Yosemite Park at the time, invited Schroll to become the new ski school director in Yosemite Badger Pass, hiring Schroll on the spot. Schroll's popularity at Yosemite and among skiers, more than doubled the number of skiers the next year coming to ski at Badger Pass. Schroll's popularity became such that photographer Ansel Adams once included a picture of Schroll, which he had taken in Yosemite, for advertising.
