WyomingConstitution of the Proposed State of Wyoming Adopted in Convention at Cheyenne, Wyoming. September 30, 1889. Cheyenne: The Cheyenne Leader Printing Co., 1889 8vo (211 x 140 mm). A little tanned, but a bright copy. Original printed pale yellow wrappers; soiled and chipped at spine. In a quarter brown morocco slipcase, with folding chemise. An early printing of the complete text of the Wyoming State Constitution, as proposed at the constitutional convention in Cheyenne in 1889. The constitution was ratified by the people on 5 November 1889, and Wyoming became the 44th state on 10 July 1890. It was the first state constitution to explicitly grant women the right to vote.
