Richly illustrated with woodcuts in the text. Last blank leaf mended in outer margin. Some foxing. Signature in upper margin on verso of engraved title "Exlibris Jacobi Davis". BOUND WITH: WORM, OLE. Regum Daniae series duplex et Limitum inter Daniam & Sveciam descriptio. Ex vetustissimo legum Scanicarum literis runicis in membrana exarato codice eruta,... Hafniae (typis Melchioris Martzan sumptibus Joachimi Moltkenii) 1642. 4:o (about 280x188 mm.). (12), 1-36 pp. Title with woodcut vignette. Captions and some runic letters printed in red. Partly some minor dampstaining in upper margin. Some foxing. Contemporary brown full calf, worn, gilt borders, mended in the joints, gilt spine in seven compartments, some damages at head and foot,redspeckled edges. Bookplate from the library at Torup Castle in Scania, Sweden. Scarce first editions of both works. The "Danicorum Monumentorum" may be one of the most significant work on runes ever written, founding the study of runes and runic monuments.
