Contemporary panelled calf, rebacked preserving original backstrip with gilt lettered black morocco spine label. Condition: lacking portrait, edges slightly browned small wormhole to lower margin; covers slightly bowed and rubbed. Provenance: Georg Rarley (1668 signature to frost pastedown); I. H. Breastfeld (1678 signature to title); A. McHellawork (19th century signature to front flyleaf); Harry & Virginia Walton. Ole worm lived most of his life in Copenhagen and was physician to the King of Denmark. His natural History cabinet, a veritable collection of curiosities is described in this work; an extraordinary feat of collecting, he used his 'Museum' to teach his students at the University of Copenghagen.
