War of 1812 pattern staved drum canteen with sheet iron hoops, issued by the State of New York. 7-1/4" diameter, 2-3/4" thick, painted dark grey-blue with 1-1/2" white "S.N.Y." letters. "E. ARENTS" maker mark is branded on the back. The stopper is missing but all three iron keepers are intact with a partial leather carry strap.
