Beschreibung:

Wolfgang Kunz (b. Augsburg 1942) An original b/w press photograph of the German student leader Rudi Dutschke (1940–1979) during an anti-Vietnam War demonstration in Berlin on February 21, 1968. Back with publisher's stamp ('Deutsches Pressefoto'), 'Süddeutsche Zeitung' stamp as well as a hand-drawn red star (?). Double glazing. Fiber based photographic paper. Visible size 19.5×24.5 cm. Frame size 29×37 cm. The charismatic Rudi Dutschke, a beacon for the revolutionary German left wing, got his inspiration not least from Rosa Luxemburg (1871–1919), from the so-called 'critical marxists' and also from christianity, and through his cooperation with African and Latin American students he developed a theory about how society could be radically changed. In his view representative democracy and parlamentarism expressed a 'repressive tolerance', which blurred the bourgois exploitation of the working class and protected the privileges of the few. Rudi Dutschke died in Aarhus, Denmark in December 1979. Condition This is an original b/w gelatin-silver press photograph from c. 1968, which shows a slightly wavy surface. Fine surface scratches. Front with a few stains. Back with one stain.
