Two-line barrel mark reads: WINCHESTER-REPEATING-ARMS NEW HAVEN, C.T. / KINGS-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29, 1877, OCTOBER 16, 1860. Tang marked MODEL 1873 within floral brackets. No caliber marking visible on barrel or lifter. Buckhorn rear sight, dovetailed front sight with German silver blade. No cleaning rods in butt. Condition: Good. Retains some traces of streaky thin blue, with a grayish-brown patina and some scattered oxidation. Clear markings on metal, mechanically functional, very good bore needs to be cleaned. Wood sanded and refinished, leaving the metal proud of the wood in several areas, also showing scattered bumps and bruises.
