WILSON, James. Autograph document signed ("James Wilson") a promissory note. N.p., 1 May 1794. 1 page, oblong (2 7/8 x 7¾ in), neatly inlaid to a larger sheet, endorsements on verso. Wilson, regarded as one of the principal architects of the American legal system, also has the distinction of being ONE OF ONLY SIX MEN WHO SIGNED BOTH THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND THE CONSTITUTION. He served as the first President of the Bank of America and was an associate justice of the Supreme Court.
