1879-1882 studierte von Wille an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Ab 1886 war er Mitgleid im Künstlerverein Malkasten. Er gehört zu den Landschaftsmalern der Düsseldorfer Malerschule, wobei er ab dem Anf. des 20 Jhd. zum Spezialisten für Darstellungen der Eifel avanciert.
